If your or your spouse’s health care coverage is affected by a change in your spouse’s employment or benefits eligibility with his or her current employer, you may be eligible to begin or discontinue coverage under the district’s benefits program. The district lets you adjust your benefits elections as long as you submit your change by calling Benefits Outlook within 31 days of the event at 1-866-222-KISD (5473), weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central Time, except holidays.
Changes you want to make must be on account of, and logically related to, your spouse’s change in benefits eligibility with his or her current employer. For example, if your spouse loses health care coverage through his or her employer, you may add coverage for your spouse, but cannot change the type of health care coverage you have.
